Ok so the father died in 1940, that's why he wasn't on the census. Hendrena was divorced. Martina disappeared somewhere between age 14 and 24, since she wasn't on the 1930 census. Helen married frank shaffer who worked with the two Peters at the paper, and i guess didn't have any family to stay with, because he was living with the family for the 1920 census, and I guess hooked up with Helen. But in 1940 she is named helen curl, so divorced from frank and remarried and possibly divorced a Mr Curl, also. And sometime after the death of his dad, peter moved to LA. Back then, people divorced more because they did not just live together like people do now. People these days may have 3 to 4 people they have lived with for a year or two, but never got married, so it just seems like people long ago were in more relationships. But probably people are in more longterm relationships these days because of the lack of commitment and belief in marriage.
